3 Ways to Brand Yourself as a Titleholder

May 23, 2019

Picture It! You just won your pageant. You are given a beautiful crown and sash and an amazing prize package. All of your hard work has finally come to an end, right? Not so fast! The work has only just begun. Once you win a pageant title you become the brand ambassador of that organization. A brand ambassador acts as a spokesperson for the organization she represents. It is important as a brand ambassador that you represent your brand (pageant) in a positive light. As a brand ambassador you are given the job of promoting (branding) yourself and your organization. You are a living and breathing walking billboard. Not sure where to begin? Keeping reading to learn three ways to brand yourself as a titleholder.

  1. Create Posts That Tell a Story

There is nothing wrong with posting selfies or pictures of your dog, but make sure you social media pages tell your story. Who are you? Who do you represent? What makes your pageant system so special? It is important that your social media posts answers those questions.  As a brand ambassador it is your responsibility to promote your system. Yes, I said it. All of the promotion does fall solely on the director. You as a titleholder must do you part as well. Make sure you know your pageant system through and through. Educate your followers about your pageant system and show them what you are doing with your title. You did not win this crown and sash just to look pretty. The real work begins after the crown has been manifested. Also, don’t just post pictures. Post illustrations, quotes, and videos.

  1. Post Regularly

Posting once a month will not do. Social media platforms have changed their algorithms so many of your followers will not see all of your posts. With that being said, it is important that you post at least 3-5 times a week. I know that may seem like a lot, but depending on the platform 3-5 times a week may still not be sufficient. I know you may not want to spend your life on social media so utilize social media management tools like Hootsuite or Buffer to pre-schedule your posts. Don’t worry: They have FREE options.

  1. Grow Your Brand

Now that you have an established social media presence that is telling your story and the story of your pageant system, it is now time to take your brand to the next level. Do the following steps:

  • Appear as a guest on pageantry podcasts.

There are several pageantry podcasts that love to have guest titleholders. Some of my favorites are PageantCast, Pageants and Prosecco, Sashversations, and Crown Talk with Byrgundy.

  • Write for pageantry publications such as blogs and magazines.

Many blogs and magazines are always looking for fresh content to share with their audience. This blog, Krystle Clear Pageantry, is currently accepting guest writers. If you are interested in serving as a guest writer, please inquire at info@krystleclearpageantry.com.

  • Apply for Contests and Brand Ambassador Programs

There are programs such as the Jovani It Girl contest and Faviana Brand Ambassador Program that can really help grown your brand and increase your visibility on and off line. Both programs have their own requirements so please do you due diligence and do your research.

  • Form partnership with other titleholders from other systems.

Collaborate on events and/or service activities with other titleholders. There is nothing like see titleholders coming together to accomplish a common mission and promoting positive pageantry.
