Pageant coaches are instrumental to the pageantry industry because they prepare contestants for success on and off the stage. This month I want to highlight 5 black pageant coaches who are successful in the industry and will continue to make an major impact especially in 2018.

1. Jessica C. Alexander, Wear Your Crown 101

Jessica C. Alexander is a successful entrepreneur, author, and speaker. She has been in involved in the pageantry industry as a competitor, judge, coach, and director. She is the creator of Wear Your Crown 101 which is the premiere pageant training platform for future queens, reigning queens, and pageant directors. Wear Your Crown 101 provides affordable and hands-on training that successfully prepares you for a successful and productive experience.

2. Deshauna Barber, PR Pageant Coaches

Deshauna Barber captivated us when she was crowned Miss USA 2016. She is a U.S. Army Officer and a sought after speaker. She recently joined the staff of PR Pageant Coaches as the Director of Strategic Motivation. PR Pageant Coaches are known for producing winners in the Miss USA system. Deshauna will be hosting pageant workshops throughout the United States in the coming months.

3. Amber Brown, Crown Captors Pageant Support & Consulting

Amber Brown is a master educator, counselor, and mom dedicated to helping young girls and teens that are active in the pageant community. Her company’s motto is “Envision Your Reign”. Amber was recently named as a Top 10 Pageant Talent Coach of 2017 by The Pageant Planet.

4. Ocielia Gibson, More Than Pretty Pageant Coaching with Ocielia

Affectionately known as the Confidence Catalyst, Ocielia Gibson has been featured in media outlets such as Ebony, Parenting Teens, and Marie Claire. She is a former Miss Black USA, author, life coach, and speaker. At the age of nineteen, she founded More Than a Pretty Face International,  a life-enrichment company she initially founded as an outreach to girls in underserved communities.

5. Krystle Bell Saulsberry, The Glamour Effect

A small town girl with big dreams, Krystle Bell Saulsberry is a pageantry consultant, blogger, speaker, and best selling author. She has over 15 years in the pageantry industry as a competitor, judge, coach, emcee, and stage manager. She founded The Glamour Effect which is a premiere pageantry/life coaching and event consulting company designed to empower women and girls for success. She has trained pageant contestants that have competed in the following systems: Miss Tri-State, Miss Black Teen USA, National American Miss, and Distinguished Young Women.
