Crown Captors Consulting Focuses on Mentorship and Mindset

March 3, 2020

Happy March! This month we celebrate Women’s History Month and the great things women have accomplished in this country and throughout the world. As a woman, I believe it is important that I celebrate other women and give them a platform to showcase their accomplishments. With that being said, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Amber Brown of Crown Captors Consulting a several weeks ago. Amber is a dynamic mindset coach in the pageantry industry, and she is transforming the lives of girls and teens throughout the United States. Check out this interview to learn more about Amber and her business.

What is Captors Consulting, and what inspired you to create this brand?

Crown Captors began as a pageant coaching business but over the years has morphed into a mentoring and mindset program for pageant girls and teens both active and non-active in pageantry.

What made you decide to become a pageant coach?

As a former teen mom who succeeded despite my circumstances, I have always had a passion for girls. By profession, I am an educator. My decision to turn my passion into a pageant coaching venture happened when mom after mom asked me to help them with their daughters who were competing in pageants. So in seeing the domino effect, I grabbed the opportunity to fulfill my desires of helping other moms and daughters reach their goals. Thus, Crown Captors was born.

What area of pageant coaching is your specialty? (i.e. interview, talent, personal introduction, etc.)

I am a mindset coach. My strength is communication both on and off stage. I not only teach girls how to confidently communicate a clear message but how to think about themselves leading up to and in the moment of performance. Mindset is key in any performance and even the most well-trained and prepared contestant will be sub-par if she is not mentally focused and assured. I couple mindset with communication.

How has Crown Captors impacted your life?

I am so fulfilled and happy when I coach girls all across the nation. I consider it a blessing and an honor just to be able to be a small part of the lives of some really awesome, talented and outstanding girls! I am genuinely excited when I see them grow and attain their goals and dreams both on and off stage. It’s really fulfilling. I find great joy in doing what I do.

What direction do you see your business going in the next 5 years?

I see the Crown Captors Ambassador program that I just recently started grow into a robust mentoring program as a separate 501c3 organization so that I could offer as many scholarships as possible through this program. I want to empower girls to teach others about the power of positive thinking. I would love to travel and speak at workshops for pageant contestants or girls who are learning how to be successful in life.

What is one piece of advice you would give to novice pageant contestants? Comparison is the thief of joy. Your journey is your own and no one else’s. Learn who you are and own it 100%. Carry positive energy with you wherever you go.
