I Ended my 2022 Pageant Attendance with an Era of Black Excellence

December 31, 2022

The 2021 Miss Black International Ambassador Court Teen: Liberty Hull Miss: Cierra Jackson Ms: Tejianna Saxton Mrs: Dr. Deidra Sorrell; 2022 Miss Black International Ambassador Court Teen: Blandine Cadet Miss: Jackeima Flemming Ms: Erica Lawrence Mrs: Makeva Armant-Muhammad

This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are mine.

Today is the last day of 2022, and I must right a wrong. Earlier this quarter, I attended the Miss Black International Ambassador Pageant, and I promised my audience that I would write a review shortly thereafter. Well, life got busy, and I forgot to honor my promise.

It has been over three months since I attended the pageant, and I have yet to write a review. All of that changes tonight. I cannot end the year without sharing my thoughts of the last pageant I attended in 2022.

The final competition of the Miss Black International Ambassador Pageant, known as MBIA, took place on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the Ferst Center for the Arts on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.  Nineteen contestants along with the 2021 MBIA Queens (Phenomenal Four) entered the stage dressed in red to perform their opening number before they competed in the following areas of competitions:

Costume

Fitness

Evening Gown

On – Stage Question

Final Statement

These ladies wowed us with their intelligence, grace, style, and confidence. Once the competition was over, it was time for the judges to deliberate and select the winners.

The following ladies were selected as members of the 2022 International Court also known as the Exquisite Four:

Miss Teen Black International Ambassador – Blandine Cadet (Georgia)

Miss Black International Ambassador – Jackiema Flemming (U.S. Virgin Islands)

Ms. Black International Ambassador – Erica Lawrence (North Carolina)

Mrs. Black International Ambassador – Makeva Armant – Muhammad (Maryland)

Other award winners included the following:

Overall Photogenic Winner: Emerald Holman (District of Columbia)

Community Builder: Stacey Byrd (Texas)

Now, it is time to end my review with the question I ask myself after every pageant I attend.

Was this pageant Krystle Clear?

A resounding YES!

Everything from the venue to production was superior! It is always refreshing to attend a pageant that is professionally executed. I cannot say enough about the caliber of contestants because these ladies slayed the stage in more ways than one. The judges did an excellent job of selecting the international court, and their selections were in alignment with my own predictions.

I was also able to see and get pictures of a few of my favorite people who are affiliated with this pageant system.

Erica Lawrence (Ms. Black International Ambassador 2022)

Cierra Jackson (Miss Black International Ambassador 2021)

Dr. Diedra Sorrell (Mrs. Black International Ambassador 2021)

Chantel O’Brian (Miss Bahamas Universe 2021)

I cannot wait to follow the new titleholders on their journeys and see what they will offer during their individual reigns.

Many thanks go out to Danielle Maury, MBIA Director of Operations, for inviting me to attend and cover this prestigious event. You did an exceptional job, and your commitment to the pageantry industry does not go unnoticed.

I also want to honor the Co-Executive Directors Cierra Thompson and Bria Virgil and the rest of the MBIA Staff. My prayer is that MBIA continues to grow and prosper in this era of black excellence.
