Royal Spotlight: Jayden Burrell, Teen Sterling Miss USA 2019

September 19, 2019

The Royal Spotlight is an interview series where I highlight queens from a variety of pageant systems.  This month I have the pleasure of featuring Jayden Burrell, Teen Sterling Miss USA 2019.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Jayden Burrell, and I am 18 years old. I am currently a freshman in college at Lawson State Community College in McCalla, AL. I am pursuing a degree in Nursing with a goal of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist.

When did you start competing in pageants?

Honestly, I participated in middle school pageants just for fun and really wasn’t serious about them until my junior year in high school. I competed several times but was never crowned as a queen. That didn’t stop me from continuing to pursue my goal of being crowned Miss McAdory. My senior year of high school my dream came true, and I was crowned Miss McAdory 2019. As a result I was approached and advised to participate in a local pageant, and it was history from there.

Why do you compete in pageants?

I compete in pageants because of the sisterhood gained, the thrill of being on stage, real life experiences, being a mentor to other girls, networking, and most importantly sharing with others about my platform “You Do Matter.”

How many titles have you won?

I have won a total of 10 titles since beginning my journey in October 2017.

Tell us about Sterling Miss USA.

Sterling Miss USA is a pageantry system that supports and promotes service to others while being a leader and a mentor for young girls.

What have you learned about yourself through your pageant experience?

Through the pageantry system I have learned that I am a strong and resilient individual.

What are your future plans for your pageant career?

My future plans for my pageant career is to compete in the Miss Alabama USA pageant with hopes of being crowned Miss Alabama USA and continuing on to Miss USA.

What words of advice do you live by?

Words of advice that I live by are, “Beautiful girl, you can do amazing things,” and “She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25
