Royal Spotlight: Krystle Nicole Johnson, Ms. America U.S. United 2020

December 31, 2019

The Royal Spotlight is an interview series where I highlight queens from a variety of pageant systems.  Closing out 2019, I have the pleasure of featuring Krystle Nicole Johnson, Ms. America U.S. United 2020.

Tell us about yourself.

I am Krystle Nicole Johnson. I am the proud mother of Prince Ian Myles. He is 10 years old. I have worked for a major telecommunications company for the past 14 years. I am also the owner and operator of Her Secret Garden LLC. I enjoy all things beauty, traveling, and shopping. I consider myself a philanthropist. Giving back to the community around me, near and far, brings me the greatest joy!

When did you start competing in pageants?

I started competing in pageants around the age of 5 years old.

Why do you compete in pageants?

Pageants, in my adult life, have been therapy for me. A lot of women compete only for the crown, but it’s deeper than that for me. It has been an outlet for me to heal from some of life’s toughest challenges.

How many titles have you won?

Oh my! ALOT! My last win was Ms. Ultimate All World Beauties 2016.  All World Beauties is an amazing system that stands on the pillars of service, inner beauty, and empowerment. After my reign, they honored my service by naming me AWB Queen of Queens Lifetime #8.

Tell us about the U.S. United Pageant.

U.S. United is another amazing organization that is ran by Marchia Phillips. I love that U.S. United is dedicated to bringing awareness to issues (such as breast cancer) to a very diverse group of women around the globe.

What have you learned about yourself through your pageant experience?

I have learned a lot about Krystle through pageantry! One of the biggest lessons has been the power of the woman! I have met phenomenal women from around the globe and all walks of life. Doctors, lawyers, educators, athletes, and many others have taught me humility, boldness, and true sisterhood.

What are your future plans for your pageant career?

I will be competing July 2020 in the international portion of the U.S. United Pageant. I am honored to wear the title of Ms. America U.S. United 2020. This will be my last time on stage competing. Over the past few years, I have found so much joy emceeing pageants and working behind the scenes. I plan to continue doing just that.

What words of advice do you live by?

Two things…

Be YOU! Never compromise who you are for worldly gain. The world needs the authentic YOU!

NEVER allow your past to determine your future.
