April 11, 2019

I am pretty sure every blogger has a guest(s) they would like to feature on their site. Well, after three and a half years as a blogger, I have found that guest! I must say it is an honor and extreme privilege to get the opportunity to interview Nia Franklin, Miss America 2019. I have been following the Miss America Organization for several years now, and this organization crowns some phenomenal women.  I want to thank Mallory Hagan, Miss America 2013 for facilitating this interview process and making this goal of mine a reality.  Now, continue reading to learn 7 key facts to know about Miss America 2019.

KCP: How did you get involved in pageantry, and how long have you been involved in the industry?
NF: I did my first competition January of 2016. It was a great experience that I was convinced to do because of my mom and some really extraordinary Miss North Carolinas.

KCP: The title of Miss America brings a lot of fame and attention. How do you remain humble?

NF: My family has always kept me humble. I also believe that respecting others goes a long way, and it’s just the right thing to do.

KCP: What is your #1 tip for competing in a pageant?

NF: Make sure to enjoy the experience because even if you don’t walk away with the job you will have amazing memories.

KCP: How do you find work/life balance?
NF: I make sure I find time to journal and go to the gym.

KCP: Does faith play a role in your life?

NF: Faith plays a major role in my life. I would be nothing without God. My family raised me in church, and my faith is why I have made it to this point in my life.

KCP: What are your plans after Miss America?
NF: The sky is the limit. My career as a composer and songwriter will be my main focus upon passing on the job to Miss America 2020.

KCP: Do you have any business ventures or entrepreneurial aspirations?
NF: I have always considered myself a business woman and entrepreneur. I have business ideas I’d like to focus on once I start the next phase of my life.
